Use this guide after you have edited your seasonal CMA email and SMS templates. The goal is to send both versions to a test client, verify the Digital CMA experience, and confirm the relevant alerts are active.
Before you start: Make sure you have a test client linked to a property record and that your seasonal CMA email/SMS templates have already been edited. |
Send a test CMA email
1. Open the linked property record
In the Properties database, open the property record linked to your test client. From the record, choose Send and then Send Email.
Open the test property record and choose Send Email.
2. Select your seasonal CMA email template
In the email panel, search the template list for “CMA”. Choose the seasonal template you have edited — Spring, Summer, Welcome for Autumn, or Winter. Confirm the preview loads with your changes.
Search for CMA and select the edited seasonal email template.
3. Send the test email
When the preview is correct, select Send Email. The message should arrive in the inbox associated with your test client.
Send a test CMA SMS
4. Open Send SMS
Stay on the same property record and choose Send SMS. Open the template selector, search for “CMA”, and choose the seasonal SMS template you want to test.
Select the seasonal CMA SMS template from the Send SMS panel.
5. Update the preview and send
Select Update Preview so the current template content is loaded. Review the message, then select Send SMS. The test SMS should arrive on the mobile number associated with your test client.
Admin check: confirm CMA triggers
6. Check the Digital CMA triggers
If you are an admin user, open the Engine and go to Triggers. Confirm that Digital CMA – Page View and Digital CMA – Appraisal Requested are active. These triggers can alert you when a recipient opens the CMA and when they submit an appraisal request.
In Engine > Triggers, check the Digital CMA page-view and appraisal-request triggers.
Optional: If you have a large database and do not want an alert every time someone opens a CMA, edit the Digital CMA page-view trigger and set it to inactive. |
Review the customer experience
7. Open the email and SMS you received
Review the content delivered to your test inbox and mobile. Check the wording, personalisation, links and overall presentation.
Open the delivered test message and review it as a recipient would.
8. Open the Digital CMA
Select the CMA button or link in the test message. Confirm it opens the correct Digital CMA report. Review the headline, wording and imagery. If you use a new seasonal video, confirm it has been added and plays correctly. A video is optional.
Confirm the link opens the Digital CMA and the report content is correct.
9. Check market data and your agent profile
Scroll through the report. Confirm the statistics load for the correct area, including recent sales and current listings. Check that your agent bio and contact details are complete and up to date.

Verify local market information and agent details throughout the CMA.
10. Test the Book appraisal call to action
At the bottom of the Digital CMA, select Book appraisal. This is the action owners will use to request an appraisal. Confirm the request generates the expected alert so the owner can be contacted to book the appraisal.
Test the Book appraisal call to action and confirm the appraisal-request alert.
